EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a synthetic rubber roofing material that is commonly used on flat or low-sloped roofs. It is a popular choice for commercial roofs because it is durable, easy to install, and resistant to UV radiation, extreme temperatures, and weathering. EPDM roofs typically last 20-30 years, depending on the quality of the material and the level of maintenance.
When installing an EPDM roof, first ACR cleans and prepare the roof surface. This may involve removing any old roofing material or debris, repairing any damaged areas, and applying a primer to the surface. Next, the EPDM rubber sheet is unrolled and cut to fit the size of the roof. ACR then glueds or mechanically fastens it to the roof deck with adhesive or special fasteners. Finally, we seal the seems of the EDM sheet seams of the EPDM sheet with a special tape or liquid sealant to create a waterproof barrier.
EPDM roofs are easy to maintain and repair. They can be inspected regularly for signs of damage or wear, and any repairs can be made quickly and easily by applying patch kits or replacing damaged sections. Overall, EPDM is a reliable and cost-effective option for commercial roofing.
